This isn’t a mistake. Google maps is a great source for visuals! Not just the overhead street maps.. satellite view and street view can provide the perfect image for your project from any place on the planet. It’s my understanding that you can use screenshots of google maps, as long as you don’t violate their guidelines and include the copyright or attribution. I’m not a copyright lawyer – so check for yourself. Also, there are user contributed images – those are the property of the contributor.
