There’s a free tier of VidIQ. However, the features are very limited and many things you attempt to do will be met with an annoying reminder that you’ll have to upgrade to use that feature. However, the free tier is a great place to start because you’ll be able to focus on figuring out the features you do have access to (rather than everything all at once) and figure out as you go which features you’d like to have that might not be included in the free tier.
The Pro tier ($5/mo) is very reasonably priced and adds a lot of features beyond the free tier. However, there are some limitations. I believe it only gives you 3 or 5 video ideas per day and, of course, it will let you know that additional suggestions are available if you upgrade.
The Boost plan ($24.50/mo) is the sweet spot for me considering price and features. I get more video ideas every day than I could ever use and I’ve got a helper when I’m uploading for the title, description, tags, and even a thumbnail generator. The thumbnail generator isn’t awesome, but I like that VidIQ is exploring that functionality and I have used it when I have a video that needs to go up right now and I’ve completely forgotten to create a thumbnail.
The next tier is the 1-on-1 coaching tier at $99/mo and includes, of course, access to a YouTube coach. I’ve never used this feature or subscribed at this tier and I’ve seen mixed reviews from those that have.
